Recap of the SIGGRAPH 2019 CAF Travelling Show @ Toronto

On March 3rd, more than 50 animation lovers joined the Toronto ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter for our screening of the SIGGRAPH 2019 Computer Animation Festival Travelling Show at the Royal Theater. We were honored to have Mark Elendt, a local VFX veteran, Academy Award winner and longtime SIGGRAPH volunteer, host and enlighten Torontonians about the conference and the CAF.

The SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival Travelling Show brings the world’s most innovative exploration of computer-generated animation and visual effects of the year to Toronto. Besides the Best in Show “Purl”, Jury’s Choice “The Stained Club” and Best Student Project “Stuffed”, we explored what’s happening inside a cell and were stunned by climate change’s visible impact on forest terrain.

Sounds fun but missed it? Stay tuned! The Toronto ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter will be hosting remote webinars. This is a great opportunity for all to hear from local computer graphics communities! Topics of webinars are to be announced.
