The Toronto Chapter is back with a special event that you don’t want to miss!
Toronto’s Mark Elendt and SideFX received an Oscar statuette this year at the Sci-Tech Academy Awards for their work on the Houdini visual effects and animation system. To celebrate their achievements, the Chapter has invited them to talk about the historical background and the development of Houdini and how it has led to the award. Come join us on Wednesday April 18th at 7pm for your chance to meet some of the brilliant minds from SideFX Software.
The event will feature a talk from Mark Elendt and Kim Davidson (CEO) as well as Jeff Lait (Senior Mathematician) and Cristin Barghiel (VP Product Development) who were presented with a Scientific and Engineering Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for their contributions to the design and architecture of Houdini.
This will followed by networking and good cheer at a nearby pub.
So come join us for an evening to remember! Doors open at 6:45pm.
With more than twenty years of continual innovation, Houdini has delivered the power of procedural methods to visual effects artists, making it the industry standard for bringing natural phenomena, destruction and other digital effects to the screen. – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
